The Best Way to Give Offerings

Offerings are a great way to express gratitude to your spirit companions, living entity companions, or Immortals who are helping you along your journey.  Offerings can be made in a myriad of ways, and you will likely use all of these suggested offerings over the course of your time as a Keeper.

Are Offerings Necessary?

No, they are not.  Not all Keepers make offerings to their companion family.  If it's not something you feel comfortable with, then you should not make offerings.  You can find other ways to express and share gratitude with your companions.

What Containers Should Be Used?

You should have one, or more, dishes that are specific to your offerings.  They should only be used for offerings.  You can use plates, bowls, cups, etc.

Offerings can be made that the companion likes, or you can make an offering of something you like.  By sharing the things that you like, it's part of the bonding process.  You are sharing a little piece of who you are and that opens a door to bonding between you.

Most Common Offerings for Your Companions

Herbs, Flowers, Flora

You can make offerings of any flora in dried or fresh form.  Dried herbs, flowers, leaves make perfect offerings.  If you are using fresh herbs, flowers, or plants, you can always dry out the fresh flora to reuse as dried flora.

Crystals, Fossils, Minerals

You can make offerings of any rough, tumbled, polished, point, sphere, chips, etc of gemstones, crystals, fossils, or minerals.  You can make a mixture of different stones, they don't all have to be the same stone.

Oils, Perfume

You can make an offering of essential oils, mineral oils, and perfumes.  A few drops of your favorite oil or perfume is sufficient, you do not need more than that.

Fabric, Textiles

You can make an offering of a swatch of cloth, or fabric item in a color that you enjoy, or your companion enjoys.  The fabric can be of a particular weave or pattern that either of you enjoys.

Handwritten Notes

Leaving your companion(s) handwritten notes with messages giving them thanks, expressing ideas, sharing your favorite quote, poem, etc.

Support, Tips, & Advice on Making Offerings

When to Make Offerings?

Offerings should be made any time you feel it is appropriate.  You do not have to make offerings on a set schedule.  When you feel compelled to make offerings, that is the best time.  You should feel your intuitive calling to leave an offering for a single companion, a group of companions, or entire family.  You can make an offering in recognition of a companion's amazing help, or just give back some love to your family.

How often to change offerings?

Fresh offerings should be changed once they start to wilt or degrade.  You can pull fresh flora from the offering dish and dry them out to reuse as dried offerings.  Otherwise, you should change out offerings at least once a month.  Some Keepers like to change them out weekly, but you should do what is comfortable for your lifestyle and needs with your companion family.

Community Offerings

You can make combined bowls of various offerings that can be enjoyed and shared by your entire companion family.  Community offerings allow your companions to have a communal spirit (pun intended), and bring everyone together in a combined celebration.

Not all companions want or like offerings

Not all companions want or like offerings.  This could be something specific to a spirit companion, or a species.  Offerings can sometimes make certain species feel uncomfortable because they don't like the singled-out attention.  In this regard, it's better to incorporate them in community bowls.

Alternate Offerings

In lieu of physical offerings made into a dish, you can make an offering of your time.  You can share positive thoughts & ideas with them, share a few words of gratitude & thanks, and keep it on a one-on-one level.
