With the size of the website and now the shop, it's easy to forget we started as an information-only website. We started the very first CH site on a free website server just to share our insight, discoveries, thoughts, and structure for what defines Spirit Keeping. A great part of this was, and still is, research. The modes of research come through many means and we spend a great deal of time in the process of research and discovery. Not just with species and races of spirits or entities, but also magick and supernatural origins. We do a great deal of research through time and all cultures, anyone and anything that has existed on Earth, in our solar system, in our galaxy, and all points beyond within the Universe.
To that end, we do a lot of work to bring something new to the website as a blog or article for learning, or a new spirit companion, new living entity companion, or specific style of magick to the shop.
By the time you see it is publicly available, there is anywhere between a few months to a few years of work behind bringing that to you to see! We're really proud of our work and we love what we do, it is truly a passion and a lifestyle. We live our work, 365 days a year.
Because of our integrity and pride in our work, we want to share hard work with everyone. However, there are many times when we finally bring something to the public that took a lot of work, it suddenly and magically (pun-intended) appears on marketplaces and other shops within days or weeks. Granted, once we make something public it becomes open to anyone and everyone to take it from us and copy us. That's an unfortunate reality. However, we've always had enough integrity and respect for the craft that if another practitioner has spent their precious time to bring something to the public, we won't do it. When we know it is something that another practitioner uniquely brought to the public, we will refer you to them if you want that very specific species, race, or type of magick. There are times, and it's going to happen, when different people discover the same species, but upon identification they may call them different names. That does happen and there are quite literally billions upon billions of different forms of life that have come, gone, and remain within the whole existence of the Universe. For this specific distinction, we are taking pride in our work where we discover something and we name it, and then it proliferates across the internet with information copied from our site only after our hard work brings it to be publicly available.
We love the community, we have always gone above and beyond to bring prolific volumes of information to everyone for free, and we have always done a lot to support other practitioners and shops - allowing full and free advertising for them in our Forum.
We want to be able to celebrate our hard work and our devotion to our craft before being completely raided by bots or people and find our work miraculously immediately available on marketplaces or websites that scour our website routinely. So, when you see our "First Brought to You By CH" icon, it's a celebration of our devotion, hard work, and passion.
